remember the Sony Ericsson Xperia pureness? It would be hard to forget - but with a transparent monochrome display, the whole transparency at a list price of $ 1,000, which was little more than a novelty to a phone that served little practical purpose. TDK may be the solution with its new transparent QVGA OLEDs, now manufacturers in black and white and a beautiful colors variation by the end of the year. At two inches offer 200ppi pixel density and are safer than you might think: the light shines only in one direction so that you can actually see all the data from the back although you can see by the display. Click you at a glance of view seemed not so lively as the best AMOLEDs on the market, but then again, these are passive-matrix, and really can say in our videos after the break where the refresh scan pending. Think this is the price, the figures for transparency, right? We also have flexible OLED screens, TDK on side of got some video of the 3.5-inch; they are not transparent, but considering the long, narrow resolution we can't help but think would make for amazing watches (or high-tech Glowstick replacement for raves).

finally a little competition to the transparent OLED market pep. Samsung and LG seem this party quite alone until now had to have, but TDK reinforced in a 2 passive matrix screen with a modest QVGA (320 x 240)-resolution. Sure not groundbreaking information but one claimed 50 percent Durchlässigkeit--meaning that half of what could - be seen behind the screen through it beats its Korean competitors quite handy. A further prototype appears the company is a 3, 5-inch flexible OLED Panel which redefined thinness with a slinky 0.3 mm profile. It via a resin substrate and covers an unimpressive 256 x 54 pixels at the moment but again, that's just as good things start: small steps of awesome. We will keep an eye out for these two as we 2010 roam the halls of CEATEC.
