Sony's Internet TV (powered by Google TV) first hands-on! (update: video)

We have taken just our unworthy eyes to the new Sony Internet TV, powered by Google TV (boy is that a mouthful) and it looks exactly the right kind of modern. We have to play a quick chance with the remote control and it definitely appeals to the nerd in uns--keep nice and use, although the optical mouse pad in the upper right corner was pretty shaky on the we tried units. (Sony chalk it up to RF interference, but we need to investigate further.) We will update you with some video so stay tuned!

Update: The video is up. Plus we have some thoughts for you double your pleasure: it's interesting how the user interface between the different TV sizes skaliert-- which sees search bar funny big on the larger TV sizes and just about right onto the medium sizes. While don't have to switch inputs, such as Sony and Google are so proud to say that there would be a clear resolution switch which app UI durchmacht-TV between live TV and the Google TV - 1080i, 720 p our guess.Something could be a real problem for Google TV is the lack of UI consistency. You are dealing with your DVR's UI, the Google search app maybe of TV search and record experience, the chrome browsing experience, and then independent user interface of a certain media (all the ones we were tempted considerably). You can also search, your recorded shows Google TV interface or your own DVRS from the UI that could among other overlapping functions as confusing if it not convenient. The image-in-picture feature, which is a simple right click is on the right d-pad to be likely a well worn option for TV users-while a show going live, something look up in the browser or in an app bread sort of this computer and butter is, and it's pretty easy to werden.der Sony keyboard feels remotely nicely in your hand, but it's pretty intuitive. Although of course position two thumbs up to the controls, thou shalt not, to use you at the same time - you can either under your right arrow the UI with the left thumb or control of the mouse with finicky optical pad.The two things on the right button are completely separated so that you use the arrows and accidentally click End Select, what always under the mouse pointer and one other way is totally geht.Es strange, especially since it's supposed to feel like a PS3 controller-a controller that typically used the two thumb controls together very effectively.Oh, and there are a million tiny buttons for everything all in any configuration make a ton of sense and some of them just total are mysterious - there no way you are going to get to do what the stars and fn keys right off the bat.

TV networks prevent that Google TV access to Web-based content (update)

By Sean Hollister 2010 posted October 21st 10: 01 PM you may be able to see the Office on your Google TV but perhaps not on demand-ABC, CBS and NBC are blocking Sony and Logitech's Web-infused television and set top boxes on full episodes of streaming video content access. The Wall Street Journal reported that all three networks have confirmed the prohibition and one decision on whether it reaches Google TV and prohibition, that Fox yet. For its part, Google says it is "ultimately the content owners choose to your fans to restrict access to your content on the platform" so the search engine companies to pitch in, don't expect unless it can work for some premium arrangements for everyone. This is the part, where we would normally you direct to the simple browser tweak the Hulu available, made when it pulled, but alas, we are the very same stunt Hulu for again blocked is.

Update:Reuters reports, the Google "actively negotiating with the three" after all networks.

T-Mobile will not confirm that says G2 OTA update, it works, call WiFi and deliver tethering 'in the future'

By Paul Miller 2010 posted October 13th 12: 24 PM we still not sure what is los but is T-Mobile with the few reports of G2s OTA updates that add WiFi incoming and native hotspot support to get up to you only nor fessing. Phone said in a statement issued scoop T-Mobile that these features "currently supported on the handset" Although T Mobile happily added that it "knows these features are important for consumers and we are working to provide users in the future to G2." It's hard to say if that means just a few minutes to remove an update from the distribution or if we still over weeks or months to wait until these functions. Familiar story?

Or maybe just "MyTouch", as is the moniker on that particular page, or even the "MyTouch 2," as the name on the small picture is appropriate. No matter what it means though, looks like it, that front-facing camera is confirmed and given our query that we would be terribly surprised if there HSPA + connectivity to had. The big question is how disappointed to if it not"as low as free prices" If the handset comes out.

Update:Tipster David R. found some additional shots of the HTC handset deep in T - Mobile's site buried - it has a black front, but the back of the unit is actually silver and Weiß.Eine 3.5 mm headset jack up top, a micro USB port on the left and a likely trigger on the right-hand side, while the rear has a camera with seemingly LED Flash and handsfree on both sides see.

Update 2:This link did not before, but is it safe now non-- it's the MyTouch and it has HSPA + all right.
